Good Evening Riptides Family!
It's been a little bit since I emailed everyone. For the past few weeks I have been tirelessly working on updating our team webpage (https://saseboriptides.swimtopia.com) with our team constitution, bylaws, updated board members, creating sponsorship and donation links, getting our Swim Outlet team store up and running, and setting up for a Snap Raise fundraiser. Before everyone floods my inbox about discontent with third-party fundraising sites, I remember the few families whom have expressed unease about opening friends and loved ones up to spam emails and text messages. I understand your unease and concern and in an attempt to alleviate the unease, I have had another Zoom call with my Snap Raise representative who confirmed 4 things:
First, that once an individual makes a donation of whatever amount they choose, that person will not receive any more email notifications for the remainder of the fundraiser.
Second, that even if a friend or family member makes a donation, they will continue to receive text messages for the remainder of the fundraiser unless that person manually unsubscribes their phone number.
Third, phone numbers, 100%, are not required to participate.
Fourth, Snap Raise does not keep, store, sell or provide any provided information to anyone or any other third (or fourth party).
With that said, I would very much like everyone to participate in this fundraiser, but if you still do not trust Snap Raise, please consider referring your friends and family to the Team Store/Sponsor section of our home page (https://saseboriptides.swimtopia.com/sponsors). This is a new feature where people can donate increments of $10, $20, $100, $500 or $1,000. By donating this way, the donation will immediately come to us and depending on the sponsorship chosen, they could receive special recognition at our next home meet, a custom logo, and acknowledgment on our webpage and FB pages.
For those who do intend to participate in the Snap Raise fundraiser, please send me a reply so I know to whom to re-send the invitations. For those willing to participate, the profile is for your child(ren) so please put their pictures as the profile picture and use your email and/or phone number. Then, on the next page/step, you can include the other parent's email and/or phone number. The final step is to begin adding email addresses (and phone numbers, if you desire but are certainly not required). The goal is for each swimmer to enter at least 20 email addresses to increase our chances of reaching our $3,000 goal. 20 addresses is the goal but it is not required, if you only submit 2 that's fine. Every little bit helps.
One other thing, with the upcoming Friendship Day in April, would we want to set up a booth as another fundraising event? We could sell baked goods, hot cocoa, etc. If we can get a general consensus, I can begin reaching out to set it up.
